SERBIA: “We want to return home as European champions”

One of the favourites of the tournament are Serbia, who have not yet achieved significant success in a major international tournament, but in recent years it has presented itself very well. According to several good judges, Serbs can cause an upset.

“We want to return home after the last match of the tournament as European champions. First and foremost, however, our goal is to play a good tournament and represent the country in the best possible light. We have a balanced team in which no one stands out significantly, which in fact makes us stronger,“ said the Goalkeeper and team Manager of the Serbian national team, Siniša Milanov.

CZECH REPUBLIC: “Anything other than a medal will be disappointing”

The holders of the trophy come to Košice with the clear goal of winning at least a medal. The Czechs want to play in the tournament until the last day and because of that they are willing to sacrifice everything. Coach Stanislav Bejda does not underestimate any opponent: “We do not have a simple basic group. Although we are in the role of the favourites, we do not know exactly what the other teams will be like who come to Košice, so we will approach each opponent with respect and humility. Nevertheless, we should not miss the transition to the decommissioning phase.“

The man at the helm of the reigning European champions is aware that the Czech national team must have the highest goals at EMF EURO 2022. “We know that the European leader in this sport is expanding and competition is growing, but anything other than a medal placement will be disappointing for us,” said Bejda.

The most prominent personalities in the Czech team should be Patrik Levčík, Ondřej Bíro or Captain Stanislav Mařík.

FRANCE: “We definitely want to move on from the group”

The French have so far participated in three European and one World Championships. At the last European Championships in 2018 in Kiev, they were missing. Their best placed finish in tournaments so far is the last 8 and something similar will be their goal at the EMF EURO 2022 in Košice.

“It is still quite a new experience for us at this level and Minifootball is still a new sport in France. We don’t know exactly what awaits us at the championship but we definitely want to advance from the group, even though we don’t have easy opponents in it. Of course, our players want to win everything and they will definitely try,” said the manager of the French national team, Jerome Chastagnol.

MOLDOVA: “We’ll see you at the tournament”

Moldova does not want to end their participation in the tournament early so they’ll be hoping to get past the group stages. Despite voices from his camp about several complications, the national team is determined to fight for the best possible result. “Although we could not prepare as we would have imagined, and due to the rules we could not include all the players we wanted, we want to go as far as possible to the tournament. How far?! The development itself will show,“ said Moldovan Manager Sergiu Caraus.

He insisted it’s not about individuals. On the contrary, he hopes and believes that the Moldovan national team will function as a team at key moments. “Anyone can be a star. Anyone can decide an important match and move us forward. We go to the tournament as a team but if some of our players are more interesting than others, we will be happy if they become part of the stories from EMF EURO 2022,“ added Caraus.
