Opening ceremony: At the amazing opening ceremony, the memory of three legends of Slovakian Minifootball and we also heard the official anthem of the EMF EURO 2022

EMF EURO 2022 had a great opening ceremony in addition to the first day of play. The well-known Slovak music group Hex, the dance groups Outbreak and ASC Cheerleaders, the drum show Batida, DJ Slavo and also the well-known Slovak DJ Milan Lieskovský performed there.

After a great introductory show, the President of the Slovak Minifootball Federation, Peter Králik, presented awards to prominent personalities of Minifootball in Slovakia who are no longer with us, during the silent remembrance of 'In Memoriam'. They were received by family members.

In Memoriam Awards received

Jozef Václav: The first president of the Slovak Minifootball Federation, one of the co-founders of the European Minifootball Federation who passed away aged 54 years due to Covid19. Jozef left an indelible mark in the Minifootball history and will be remembered as one the legends of the Slovakian league. The memorial award was received by his daughter Martina Václavová.

Miloš Hudák: Passed away aged 38, with a renomé of the best Slovak Minifootball Referee and regular EMF Referee who never said no to Minifootball nomination. Born in Prešov, Miloš was active in both European Club Competitions and his remarkable career as a Minifootball Referee was cut short by Covid-19. Award was received by his son, Miloš Hudák jr.

Mile Kovačević: A Football professional and trainer, whose passion for our sport was very-well known in Košice. Mile, founder of the Košice Football club Galaktik, has lived for Football and his legacy is followed by his son, Michal, who stands here now together to continue the path that his father had started. His memorial award was received both by Michal and the wife of Mile, Lenka Kovačević.

Peter Králik: We really write history here

Peter Králik, President of the Slovak Minifootball Federation and head of the LoC, then thanked all the people at the stadium for being part of this important event. "It's a great feeling for me and gives me great satisfaction to see at the stadium all these people at the opening of this championship. We really write history here. The people and players who will play here will never forget this tournament."

EMF President Borislav Aleksandrov added: "I would like to thank Peter Králik and the Slovak Football Association, my EMF colleagues and everyone else for their efforts in preparing for this championship. In recent years, the pandemic has complicated our situation, but it has not stopped us. We are here and we are stronger and better than ever."

During the closing ceremony, we also heared the official anthem of EMF EURO 2022 composed by PAVOL YENO and Mário GAPA GARBARA – a passionate Minifootball player and a saxophonist of the well-known music band IMT SMILE.
